We are very excited to announce our new Saturday service coming soon to Buchan Community Farm.

We will be holding a day of Dungeons and Dragons, every Saturday for up to six people we support.

The Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game is about co-operative storytelling in a fantasy setting. Players create characters and embark on imaginary adventures where they must work together to succeed. They must solve dilemmas, explore, and gather treasures and knowledge.

Each game is also led by a storyteller and rules arbiter called a Dungeon Master.

Studies have shown that, due to its highly social and collaborative nature, it cultivates a range of social-emotional skills. As we have found, it also opens up interest in other academic subjects such as maths, science, history, geography, culture, literacy, and ethics; as the game takes these concepts and gives them a fun context to help build a natural understanding.

We can offer this service at the correct distancing around individually equipped tables, in a room with heating and a Monitor to help display information. A Saturday will add to the feeling of meeting with friends and also offer an amount of respite to people who live at home.

During lunchtime, there will be a chance to meet the animals and/or go for a walk around the farm.

We are taking referrals for our new service; this will be six hours on a Saturday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm this can be arranged through your Care Manager/Social Worker.
